Reasons Behind the Age Rating:
- Violent Themes: The series deals with a storyline involving the abusive and disturbing relationship between Grace and her late husband. Although not overly graphic, the emotional and psychological effects of this past abuse are significant, affecting how Grace and her sisters interact with each other and their surroundings. Such themes can be intense and troubling, making the show more suitable for mature viewers.
- Strong Language: Bad Sisters Season 2 features strong language that aligns with the adult characters and their intense, often stressful situations. The use of explicit language is present in moments of heightened emotion, which may be unsettling for younger audiences.
- Dark Humor: The show combines dark comedy with dramatic elements, which may not be appropriate for a younger audience. The humor often touches on sensitive issues like death, secrets, and moral dilemmas, using satire that might be challenging or confusing for younger viewers to understand.
- Adult Situations and Themes: The Garvey sisters, each with their own struggles and relationships, face moral choices that add to the intensity of the storyline. The series explores mature themes such as infidelity, revenge, and complicated family bonds, which could be inappropriate for those under 18.
- Psychological Tension: A central part of the story revolves around suspense and tension, particularly as the sisters are drawn back into a mysterious situation involving a new body found near them. The psychological depth and darker aspects of the plot create an atmosphere that may be too intense for younger audiences, making the 18+ rating more appropriate.
