Reasons Behind the Age Rating:

  1. Violence and Crime Themes: The series deals with crime and law enforcement, focusing on parole systems, corruption, and the justice system. The show contains scenes of intense conflict, criminal activity, and law-breaking behavior. Some of these scenes could be violent, involving physical confrontations, threats, and tense situations. While not overly graphic, the portrayal of criminal activities could be disturbing for younger viewers.
  2. Mature Themes: Parole Examiner Lee explores complex topics like corruption, justice, and the abuse of power. These themes might be difficult for younger viewers to fully understand and appreciate. The series also touches on the darker sides of human nature, such as exploitation and manipulation, which are central to the storyline. These themes are more appropriate for a mature audience who can critically engage with such topics.
  3. Language and Dialogue: The show contains mature language and dialogue that may include harsh words or intense exchanges, especially in high-stress situations. Characters often use firm and direct language while addressing sensitive matters related to crime and justice. Such language may be inappropriate for children or those below the age of 15.
  4. Psychological Tension: The suspense and psychological tension throughout the series are other contributing factors to the 15+ rating. Parole Examiner Lee creates a tense atmosphere as characters deal with difficult moral dilemmas and face high-stakes situations. The psychological stress and pressure on the characters may be unsettling for younger viewers who might not be ready to handle such complex emotional and mental challenges.
  5. Mature Character Interactions: There are also mature relationships and power dynamics between characters, especially with characters like Choi Hwa Ran, a loan shark. These relationships involve manipulation and deceit, adding to the mature nature of the show. The interactions between the characters often revolve around morally ambiguous decisions, which are designed to engage a more mature audience.
